Treasure Island
(Rene Finn)
Strophe :
In a tale, you´ve heard about islands,
with a creek and with some hills,
and a thing, somewhere in the landscape,
hidden deep under the soil.
Strophe 2 :
Lot of men, in big wooden vessels,
sailed along the beach an stopped.
Went ashore and searched on the island,
their whole life, but it´s in vain.
Refrain :
Look around, what the men are searching for,
is as near as you can see.
And your eyes are blind and misty,
so you waste year after year.
And your heart is closed and sorry
but the treasure is still here.
Strophe 3 :
All the men were digging for silver,
gold and coins - becoming rich.
But the most precious treasure
is the one near by your side.
Refrain :
Look around, what the men are searching for,
is as near as you can see.
And your eyes are blind and misty,
so you waste year after year.
And your heart is closed and sorry
but the treasure is still here.
Solo
Coda :
But the most precious treasure,
is a friend near by your side.
